Mommy's Sous Chef

Henry is such a good helper. For example, when I am cleaning or cooking in the kitchen he almost always keeps me company. He will inspect all my cooking tools to make sure they are properly cleaned. He separates the dirty ones from the clean ones by throwing the dirty ones on the floor. After he has finished sorting he begins "cleaning" them himself. This is done by covering them with his saliva of course. Then, he leaves them there for me to see what a good job he did.

Goggles

I have been trying to get a good picture of Henry with these nifty goggles on. He is not a very good sport. Yes, I tried to explain that they will be great fun to look at when he is older but that didn't help. I did get a few but not any with them over his eyes. He would look so great in them. His dad loves to wear goggles, usually its a the pool...usually. Anywho, Here's what i got!

Front Window

Henry has a new hobby. He likes to look out the window and watch all the goings on. I told him that he had better watch out because he may see something he shouldn't like in the Alfred Hitchcock movie Rear Window. Poor Jimmy Stewart got in a whole heap of trouble and ended up with two broken legs. Henry listened patiently (HA!) and then went on drooling all over the window.

Henry's New Habitat

It was pretty hard living in an attic for 2 months... Dont get me wrong, I am grateful we had family willing to put up with us. However, I am soooo happy to have a place of our own again. Henry may be happier than I am. He has enjoyed exploring his new surroundings.

So happy to have a home again!

Finally he has his own room! No more living in closets or offices!

The Ping Pong Bandit

Danny likes ping pong. Really likes ping pong. He was so excited when he saw a poster at BYU advertising a ping pong tournament! Could there really be people who like ping pong as much as Danny? Apparently yes, and some who like it even more... There were 67 people who signed up to play in the tourney.

The Ping Pong Bandit is ready for action. Thanks to Melanie and family for the awesome Christmas present! He looked like an idiot wearing those shorts to school when it was snowing but the shirt made up for it... a bit.

His first match. I couldn't really watch the whole thing. Everytime I would watch a point he would lose the point. Henry was supposed to watch and give me updates but he was more interested in the blue curtains. So I thought for sure Danny had lost as he walked over with a somber look. He had won! Jerk.

It wasnt untill we got out to the car that Danny realized that it was double elimination. He should be called the Ping Pong Doofis.

Working On Blog!

I promise. I am working on my blog. I am just a bit of a perfectionist so I have not posted any Henry stuff yet. Working on it!!!!!! There is just so much to post I dont know where to begin! It is my goal to get caught up this week.... we will see how that goes!

Extreme Apartment Makeover

Why would one paint and apartment one has to paint back once one moves? Simple, because one is pregnant. I was bored of our drab little townhouse and found out that we were allowed to paint! However, we have to paint it back once we move, which could be as early as this october. I was so excited to paint and knew I wanted to do something a bit different. This is what I had to work with...

I looked online for inspiration. I found myself being drawn to blues... who knows why? I never have been a blue person in my life. These were my "inspiration" pictures...

So I love the look of the top picture. However, I wanted to make more impact with the paint color. So I decided that I would "meet in the middle" with a color by the name of "embellished blue" . You can't go wrong with Embellished Blue can you? Well this was the result...

Yikes!

Trust me. It looked worse in person. Due to my current condition, I wanted to avoid the paint fumes so my wonderful husband and brother David painted the entire living room. After David went home Danny and I were sitting on the loveseat looking at the walls. I asked him what he thought of it. "It's really blue" he says, trying to spare my feelings. I blurted out that I hated it and then proceeded to cry. I woke up that next moring not hating it as much as the night before but then my mother told me that all I needed was pink flamingos on the wall. So... I painted it again. My mother offered to help which Iwas great because I didn't want to put Danny and Dave through that again. We picked out some fabric for drapes and took a color from that. And here are the results...

I still have a lot I want to do. I want to bring some hints of orange, chocolate brown and zebra print. It's a lot of blue right now, but I love it so much more that both of the before pictures!
